Boris Rodriguez is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker. He is the 2022 recipient of the TIFF-CBC Films Screenwriter Award and recently completed Film Independent’s Episodic Lab as co-writer of the sci-fi adventure series East Los Aliens. Boris’s first film Beso Nocturno (Night Kiss) premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival’s Discovery Section and was later selected for a 2006 retrospective at the MoMA in NYC. Boris’ feature debut: EDDIE - THE SLEEPWALKING CANNIBAL was selected for prominent festivals in 2012 including Tribeca and Karlovy Vary and garnered several awards including the coveted Méliès d’Argent award for Best Feature. On the heels of EDDIE's success, Boris was selected to participate in NBCUniversal’s prestigious Emerging Directors Program. More recently, Boris was part of Warner Bros Discovery x Canadian Academy Directors Program that seeks to groom select directors for Warner Bro Discovery’s scripted series. Boris is developing several projects including his next feature, Zoila and Andy.  

In addition to working in the US, Boris is fluent in English, French and Spanish and holds Canadian, Mexican and EU citizenships.
